Save with any file extension
According to the App Store, version 1.2.1 can "Open/Save with any file extension".
When I save an IA Writer document, I'm not given any file extension choices, simply the default .md. Can I therefore, simply change .md to anything I like? Is there anyway I can choose an extension and then set that as a default?

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, you’re able to change the extension when you save to other supported extensions — the common ones for plain text files with Markdown include .txt, .md, .markdown, and .mdown. If Writer doesn’t recognise the extension as one for plain text (like .xyz) it will append .md.
For more information on extension-related matters, please read our knowledge base article “Why are you using .md as a file extension? Can I change it?”.
Happy writing!
