Utterly baffled by claimed “superior” iCloud “integration”

I have been using computers for 35 years and have been online for 20 years. I am completely unable to figure out how to get an iAWriter document off my iPad and edit it on my computer. I positively refuse to use E-mail, as I am not some Neanderthal using MS Outlook.

Not only has this basic task not been thought through correctly nor described adequately (all the help documents surely read better in the original Deutsch), it simply doesn’t work.

I thought I was the only stupid one out there. What is the deal with not having a simple feature to save to iCloud or dropbox explained?

It’s very simple, and iA is making it difficult. We want every document we create to reside on the iPad’s own storage (a term we shouldn’t even have to know), on Dropbox, and “on iCloud,” all at once and without human intervention.

iCloud storage, it turns out, really means going to a super-obscure pane in iTunes after you sync your iPad. It is of no real value, but if you’re going to offer it, don’t make it the default, since obviously it doesn’t work.

    Hi mates

If you have issues syncing from the Mac to iPad and vice versa, please refer to this article in the knowledge base. If you need help to understand the design decisions and underpinnings please refer to this. And last but not least, if you want to sync form the iPad to your PC wirelessly, please use Dropbox.

    Best regards,
    Moritz
